Questions & Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before your notary or Live Scan visit.

What documents do I need to bring for notary services?
Bring a valid, government-issued photo ID (California driver's license or passport or state ID) and the unsigned document(s) you need notarized. All signers must appear in person with ID. Do not sign the document until you are in front of the notary.
What is included in the $19.95 Live Scan service?
Our $19.95 Live Scan fee covers electronic fingerprint capture and DOJ submission processing at our location. Rolling fees charged separately by the California DOJ and/or FBI (if required) are paid directly to the requesting agency — not to Quick Scan. We will help you select the correct Live Scan form (Request for Live Scan Service) before submission.
What do I need for Live Scan fingerprinting?
Bring a valid photo ID and your completed Request for Live Scan Service form (BCIA 8016) with the correct ORI, agency name, and billing number filled in by your requesting agency. If you are unsure which form you need, call us before your visit — using the wrong ORI can delay your background check.
How long does DOJ Live Scan processing take?
Most California DOJ results are returned to the requesting agency within 48–72 hours after submission, though timelines vary by agency and application type. Quick Scan captures and transmits your prints the same day; final clearance is determined by the DOJ and your requesting organization.
Can I walk in, or do I need an appointment?
This is an appointment-only service. Please schedule a 15-minute appointment using the calendar below so we can prepare your notary, Live Scan or any other session in advance.
Where is your office located, and where should I park?
We operate from a dedicated, professional home office space featuring a private, professional commercial entry for safety, confidentiality, and zero wait times. When you arrive, please feel free to park outside the premise or near a nearby market. If you need any assistance finding us, please give us a call! Our setup ensures a private, quiet, and efficient one-on-one appointment without the wait times of a commercial building.
